To produce high quality, ethically and intellectually sound management science graduates that would effectively contribute to the growth and development of their host communities, the nation, Africa and beyond through value-adding services and effective management of human and material resources for the attainment of sustainable growth and development.

Message from the Dean

"It is my pleasure to welcome you all to the Faculty of Management Sciences, Bayero University, Kano. The Faculty houses four (4) Departments, seven (7) undergraduate programmes and nineteen (19) postgraduate programmes. Since its creation about two years ago, the Faculty has experienced remarkable growth due to high level of commitments displayed by its staff. The Faculty offers wide varieties of academic programs at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels which adress diverse disciplinary interest. I therefore implore you to make the best use of the opportunity of being a student of this great Faculty and excel in your various chosen fields s of specialization, so that after graduation you can contribute immensely to the economic growth and development of your country.

Over the years, we strive to entrench an enabling academic environment by monitoring and reviewing policies and programs with a view to ensuring that the academic environment remains lively and stimulating and that staff and students derive maximum satisfaction from working and studying in the Faculty. As always, our standard has remained very high which explains why our graduates are competing favorably with their counterparts in Nigeria and internationally.

Over the years, graduates of the Faculty have performed very well and earned a lot of commendation from their employers. I urge you to keep the tempo and be good ambassadors of the Faculty in particular and the University in general. The eclectic mix of research interests amongst our staff means that we have a very vibrant atmosphere within the Faculty which is both tantalizing and scintillating. The Faculty houses a large number of professors and senior academics, who in addition to their high academic qualifications belong to a number of professional bodies within and outside the country. The Faculty has a modest vibrant history and promising future, a wonderful place to learn and to grow intellectually and academically. It possesses a wealth of academic experience combined with a great spirit and a commitment to excellence that clearly sets it apart from other Faculties of Management Sciences in Nigerian Universities.
